Countrymans Weekly Champion of Champions

Terrier winner at the Countrymans Champion of ChampionsTHE worlds most prestigious Terrier and Lurcher showing event; the Countryman's Weekly Champion of Champions finals are held at the Midland Game Fair each year. The Championship attracts large crowds of working dog enthusiasts to watch the judging of over 100 of the best examples of lurchers and terriers in the country.

Each dog invited to compete in the finals will have won its respective breed's Best in Show award at one of over 60 qualifying events held throughout the UK and Ireland. The last opportunity to qualify for the finals are the Open Shows held in the Terrier & Lurcher Village at the Midland Game Fair.

As is tradition, the Lurcher Open Show and Champion of Champions event takes place on the Saturday of the Midland Game Fair, with terriers invited to compete on the Sunday for the chance to qualify for the Countryman's Weekly Terrier Champion of Champions final in the preceding Open Show classes.

Independent judges with a sound knowledge, understanding and enthusiasm for their respective breed will preside over the affair, with two for each Champion of Champions class. The titles of Countryman's Weekly Champion of Champions and reserve Champion of Champions will be awarded to the two terriers and two lurchers most worthy.Lurcher winner at the Countrymans Champion of Champions

The Champion and Reserve on both days will be presented with a spectacular array of working dog related prizes. In addition, the Champions will also automatically qualify for the 2011 Countryman's Weekly Champion of Champions final.

Countryman Fairs will also be providing a free ticket for each qualifier to attend the Midland Game Fair on the day when their dog is scheduled to compete.
