Netmaking Championships
The All Shires Ferret Club will be organising the 3rd Annual Midland Game Fair Net Making Championship, sponsored by Arthur Carter Field Sports. The aim of the championship is to bring together net makers from across the UK to meet, chat, and compare methods.
Entrants may make any type of net, according to their own preference. The net must be made at the competition stand at the Midland Game Fair using the strings and rings provided. The string supplied for the competition is a white spun nylon that will single-knot. Competitors are allowed to use their own mesh board and needle, and these can also be provided if required.
Entry is £1 per net; competitors may enter as many nets as they wish. The competition will run over the weekend of the event and judging will take place on the afternoon of Sunday 19th September 2010 at the Midland Game Fair.
The winner will receive the Midland Game Fair Net Making Championship trophy; a solid silver needle, to keep for 1 year. Other prizes will be given throughout the competition.
