CA LogoThe Countryside Alliance works for everyone who loves the countryside and the rural way of life. Their vision is of a vital, working and thriving countryside for the benefit of the whole nation.

The Countryside Alliance is the only organisation to actively champion country life and defend the liberties of the people who live and work there. The Alliance supports tradition, but is progressive in their outlook. As the authority on rural issues, they understand what matters, from the Yorkshire Dales to the moors of the West Country. The Countryside Alliance can be counted on to challenge, campaign and lobby with a passion. It’s our countryside and the Countryside Alliance will fight to protect it for the nation. Our track record proves that.

The Countryside Alliance Foundation is the Alliance’s charitable arm; set up to build on the element of the work that has always been inherently charitable. This includes educating the public about the countryside and helping to protect the natural environment. By introducing adults and children alike to the dramatic realities of rural Britain, they hope to inspire them to find out more and become passionate enough to share their aims and values.

The Alliance is a membership organisation with over 100,000 members. The Countryside Alliance was formed on 10 July 1997 from three organisations: the British Field Sports Society, the Countryside Business Group and the Countryside Movement. The Alliance is politically non-aligned and acts in partnership and cooperation with many other rural groups including BASC, The CLA, FUW, GCT and NFU.
