Kelmarsh Country Fair Surpasses All Expectations

Over the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend a record breaking 37,391 countryside enthusiasts celebrated the start of the game fair season at the Kelmarsh Country Fair.

Throughout the weekend visitors of all ages could be seen participating in the wide range of field sports tuition facilities and competitions available. The tuition stands for clay shooting, airgun shooting, fly fishing and coarse fishing all reported record levels of entries. The Mitsubishi Motors Gundog Events, the Countryman's Weekly Terrier and Lurcher Events and the ATEO Junior Airgun Championships also welcomes their highest ever entries.

Exhibitors in Realtree Airgun Expo, Realtree Gunmaker's Row, Marsdens Gamekeeper's Row, Carrilon Angling Festival and the Working Dog Village reported a level of business above and beyond their expectations.

Michelle Riley of Carrilon said "We have had a fantastic start to the game fair season. It was incredible to see so many people in attendance on both days of Kelmarsh Country Fair, especially considering the weather and the current economic climate. We have witnessed Kelmarsh Country Fair's rapid expansion over the last five years and I have to say this was by far the best year yet".

Field sports enthusiasts and those enjoying a great family day out could be seen enjoying the wide range of live entertainment, displays and demonstrations taking place throughout the fair. The Main Arena, Richa Working Dog Arena, and Carrilon Angling Arena entertained thousands of visitors for hours on end.

Ian Harford, Chief Executive of Countryman Fairs explains, "There has always been something very special about Kelmarsh Country Fair. For many years it has been compared to it's sister event, the Midland Game Fair, for it's celebratory atmosphere and profile of feature areas. This year this has been particularly evident. The launch of the World Hunter Field Target Championship attracted over 2,000 airgun enthusiasts from across the World, and they joined thousands of other keen field sports participants at one of the finest celebrations of country life in the UK".

Countryman Fairs have already begun work on Kelmarsh Country Fair in 2010. Information on these developments will be updated soon.
