Sussex Country Fair
Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June 2009
Parham Park, West Sussex RH20 4HS
Welcome to Sussex Country Fair
From Chief Executive, Ian Harford
Dear Friends,
We are delighted to welcome you to the 18th Sussex Country Fair and to Parham Park, one of the oldest locations for a Countryman Fairs event with a history spanning over 400 years, a remarkable family inheritance providing the most appropriate setting for a true family event.
Parham’s well preserved cliff faces provide an impressive backdrop for this country lifestyle showcase, which includes superb family features alongside the traditional field sports activities.
Parham is a well liked site for steam, stationary engines and vintage vehicles and this year’s show will build upon this longstanding connection with the Green Machines Vintage Machinery displays and demonstration arena.
Sussex Country Fair has strong connections with local societies and associations, who stage fascinating exhibitions of small livestock, living history and caged birds; we are pleased to welcome once again the Eastergate Cavy Club and Chichester Caged Bird Society with their exhibitions, which with each passing year are growing in size and fascination.
We team up this year with the National Organisation of Beaters and Pickers Up (NOBS) to bring you some of the most outstanding have-a-go Gundog events to be found at any game fair, with the natural features of the parkland incorporated into the events to add an extra dimension.
This year we host the 5th and 6th qualifying rounds of The Mitsubishi Motors World Series Clay Shooting Championship. The top three shooters from each class; Professional, Open, Ladies and Junior on each day will go through to the Grand Final held on Sunday 20th September at the Midland Game Fair to shoot off for the brand new Mitsubishi L200 Trojan worth over £20,000.00LP. There is only one top gun, could it be you?
The whole family can get involved all around the show, with have-a-go activities for all age groups. The Airgun Training and Education Organisation host the have-a-go Airgun Tuition and Competition ranges, but if shooting is not your style then why not try your hand at Fly Casting, one of Britain’s biggest past times, with the Salmon and Trout Association on hand to provide information and have-a-go tuition you’ll be casting in no time.
Outstanding displays in the Richa Main Arena, have-a-go feature areas, children’s entertainers ‘Magic n’ Mayhem’, and roaming musical performances provide a full day of exciting entertainment.
Have a wonderful day and a safe journey home.
Ian Harford, Chief Executive.
